What Causes Dark Vaginal Discharge In An Elderly Person?
I am 60 yo female and have been on hrt for 10 plus years. I have just started getting a dark vaginal discharge and have not had a period in years the only thing I have changed recently is I had a low iron count in my last blood test and have been taking a supplement :- ferro-Grad C , ferrous sulphate 325mg and sodium ascorbate 562mg, could this be the cause or do I need a check up at Doctors
Hello, You need to see your doctor as soon as possible. Dark discharge could be from blood. In postmenopausal women the concern with vaginal bleeding is that it is from uterine cancer. It can come from other sources such as infection or polyp so don't panic but do see your doctor as soon as possible. You will probably need an ultrasound and possibly other testing Regards
