I am a 67-year old male and get the odd clusters of small red/purple veins on my testicles. They are painless but chafing against my Boxers have at times induced bleeding. Those spots are quite understandably a bit tender for a while. A medical procedure had been performed in the past during which the most prominent and troublesome ones were burned off. Even so they seem to appear every now and then. I am a very active and sporty old man and do gym and run very regularly. Is it possible that the veins are due to chafing only, or what is your valued diagnosis ? Kind regards. Deon Koen.
Hello Deon and welcome to HCM. Your anxiety about the scrotal veins is understandable. As the veins are superficial, just under the skin, you can easily see them. Bleeding is seen in some people, without any specific reason. At that time, give gentle pressure over the veins to compress it and stop the bleeding, till you see the doctor.Use cotton innerwear only, so friction is less. There's nothing to worry. If you've any doubts, you can contact me by name. Dr.Matthew Mangat.
