What Causes Death In A Person Suffering From Stomach Ulcers?
Very sadly my Aunt died out of the blue earlier this week. She was only 59. She was about 5 foot, 3 inches and weighted about nine stone. Apparently she suddenly went very pale and developed a grey patch on her chin. She was complaining of severe stomach pains. Later she went to bed and died in her sleep. She had not been to a doctor for a long time but had a past of stomach troubles including stomach ulcers. She was a smoker and quite a heavy drinker. Any thoughts - we are all totally shocked.

Well there are many possibilities but I will tell most probable cause .
1. With history of stomach ulcer and severe stomach pain before she went to bed there could be a possibility that bleeding might have occured from Stomach Ulcer inside her stomach ( it would have been a torrential bleeding )
2. With a habit of smoking the chances of Myocardial Infarction ( Heart attack ) is high . She might have sustained a massive heart attack and died .

I really appreciate your concern and looking to the history given here for your aunt first of all sorry for that, if some one is suspecting that ulcer might be the cause of her death then, profuse bleeding form the ulcer could be the cause of this, and in my opinion the exact cause of death can be known with autopsy, take care and have a nice day.
