What Causes Defecation During Sleep?
I m not sure how to state this problem other than to be very quick to the point... if a person deficates in the bed, while asleep, and wakes to find the mess... this person does not drink, do illegal drugs. It only happens every so often and totally unexpected - but the mystery is that the person is sound asleep and had to wake up to know. Please help

Hello,
The causes are like irritable bowel syndrome or inflammatory bowel disease or fecal incontinence due to spinal cord compression or peripheral neuropathy or infection or proctitis etc.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
Please consult your physician/neuro-physician and get it done MRI spine or urine examination is done.
If necessary get it done proctoscopy or colonoscopy and Consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
