Hi, I had not been eating any meat for 3 years. But i realized that i have vitamin and protein deficiency.I now started to eat fish.Because i cannot eat chicken meat and other red meat since after i eat any kind of chicken meat/ other meat i get sleepy, have flatus too much and have fatigue. Is that normal? If i continue to eat only fish and do not eat any kind of meat, is that healthy for me?I m 29 and female.I'm also planning to get pregnant for the next year.I eat tons of vegetables and fruits.I also like yoghurt, kefir and egg.I take fish oil, vitamin C everyday also thanks.
Fish is a source of good quality proteins as well as milk and milk products too. When pregnant, you must avoid fish as fish is often contaminated due to high levels of mercury. If you eat chicken or red meat, avoid oily and rich gravies that might be making you sleepy and fatigued. You can safely have chicken and lean meat with fat removed, and cooked in less oil so that it is not difficult to digest. Having heavy meals makes one sleepy and fatigued but if you choose low fat cooking methods, you should not have any problem consuming meat or chicken. Include enough fibre rich foods like vegetable salads and fresh fruits along with meat/non veg. so that you don't have constipation which often causes flatus. Drink enough fluids as non veg has alot of sodium increasing your body's need for fluids.
