Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yesterday i had a little too much to drink. And I am now feeling very drained. I keep getting an urge to throw up even though i have puked several times already and the feeling still hasn t gone away? I have this constant lump feeling in my throat and its so uncomfortable. After i puke it goes away but then it comes back. Is there anything i can do to feel better. I try drinking water but in the end it makes me feel even more nauseous.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of too much of drinks and started puking/vomiting and sensation of lump in the throat and feeling drained. The cause is that alcohol has caused severe gastritis along the vomiting added to the problem by causing esophagitis and GERD like symptoms hence the feeling of a lump in the throat. I would advise you the following in such a situation: First of all attend the ER or your Doctor/Hospital for clinical evaluation of the situation, the dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. To get proper prescription based PPI like Omeprazole, Domperidone and Antacid gel with anesthetic effects. Once settled, take only soft bland diet. Do not take alcohol again.
