What Causes Delay In Period After Taking Unwanted 72?
Hi I m nilanjana. I had sex with My boyfriend 25th February it s my 5th day of my period. Then I take unwanted 72 within 26th February... Bt on March my period is missing and I took a pregnancy test bt the result is negative.. Bt the problem is my period is still missing..... Plz help me.

Since your pregnancy test is negative, you should relax. Unwanted 72 is a post coital emergency contraceptive pill. It prevents pregnancy if it is taken within 72 hours of the unprotected sex. It has got following after effects:
1. Few days after taking the pill, there may be little bleeding for a day or two. This does not require any medical attention.
2. The following period may get delayed by few days to a week or so. If the pregnancy test has confirmed non-pregnant state, it is safe to wait for a week expectantly for the menses to appear.
Even after a week, if you do not get menses, then repeat the pregnancy test on overnight early morning first urine sample. If it is still negative, some progesterone preparation for 5 days will get you withdrawal bleeding within 4 to 7 days after that. However, these pills should be taken only with a gynecologist's advice.
