What Causes Delay In Periods?

Hi, I was supposed to get my period on the 13 of this month. Counting 28 days, I should have gotten it by the 13th of this month. Today is the 36th day. I know I m not pregnant. I ve had a lot of stress with moving and exams, and I ve changed my habits of eating to healthier, incorporating more fruits and veggies. I didn t even get any pms symptoms(abdominal lower pain)until yesterday. This month I haven t had any breast pain. Should I be worried?

Hallow Dear,

I do not know how are you so confident about not being pregnant. It is always safer to rule out the pregnancy. If your routine menses are regular with 28 days' periodicity, by now after 36 days, the urine pregnancy test performed on overnight first morning urine will be reliable.

If you are not pregnant, stress of different factors can be responsible for delay in period. If you can get rid of the stress by positive thinking, well and good; otherwise, you may take help f some counsellor.

Some progestational preparation like Deviry for 5 days with the advice of a Gynaecologist will get you withdrawal bleeding about 4-7 days after discontinuing the pills.

I hope this will relieve your stress.
