My period date is 7 Jan and till yet as it is 1 Feb I havent got my periods, have taken pregnancy test too which is negative. this is first time in mylife i missed period.i have been taking laxative for one month. may this will effect my period .im really tensed please help please
In my opinion there are different causes for missed periods:- 1)Pregnancy. 2)Stress. 3)thyroid abnormalities. 4)Polycystic ovarian disease(PCOD). 5)Overweight or obesity. 6)Anaemia. etc.
Pregnancy is the first thing to be ruled out if a period is missed in a regularly menstruating sexually active woman.
If you are sexually active i suggest you to do a urine pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy.
The urine pregnancy test gives accurate results if done a week after missed period.
If you are not sexually active wait for spontaneous onset of periods.
If still no periods then consult gynaecologist for medicine for withdrawal bleeding.
And then observe for your next periods for 2-3 months.
If they are irregular all the above said causes should be ruled out,
Avoid stress if any.
Relax.
Nothing to worry.
Hope this helps. Best regards...Dr.srilatha
