Hello dear Understand your concern Misoprostol is used for medical termination of early intrauterine pregnancy. But it is safe and successful if used under observation of gynecologist. Delay in bleeding may be due to incorrect application or ectopic pregnancy. Dose of misoprostol is: 800 ug vaginally or orally every 6-8 hourly. Maximum up to 3 dose under the guidance and observation of gynecologist. Do not use extra dose by yourself as it cause excessive bleeding and severe abdominal cramp. If no induced bleeding, consult the gynecologist and get the pelvic examination done for extra dose of misoprostol. Follow up visit at 7th (if bleeding continue) and 14th day also needed (For USG scan). If drug fails , do not continue the pregnancy as it cause fetal defects and should be removed by evacuation/D & C. Hope this may help you Best regards Dr. sagar
