What Causes Delayed Bleeding Despite Taking Mifegest And Misoprostol?

Hi Dear LifeSavers,My wife 6 weeks pregnent for the medical abortion she using mifegest 1+4 kit at 17/9/ at 9Am 1 Mifepristone 200mg orally, after 24hrs she taken 2nd dose 18/9 2 tablets of Misoprostol 200mcg 10am and 10PM orally and then again used Misoprostol 1 at 19/9/ 9:30am, orally, but still not yet bleeding started and also she s not feeling any symptoms also,Please suggest what happen and why the bleeding not yet started, then we need to do any further procedure..Regars, Sarath

In the current scenario, it is advisable to contact a specialist to see if the dosage she used is insufficient, whether she needs repeat dosage, if the gestation sac is ectopic or intrauterine through a trans-vaginal sonogram and follow up. Bleeding with uterine contraction is usually seen a couple of hours after the dosage is completed. However, it may take up to 6-8 hours also. I would ask you not to self-medicate to induce the abortion, especially without performing a sonogram before the procedure. Hope this helps.
