What Causes Delayed Period And Lower Back Pain With History Of PCOS?
I had my first period in two years last month. I am 27 and have always been irregular with a history of poly cystic ovarian syndrome. We want to have a baby do tried to time ovulation. My period would have been due 5 days ago but didn t start despite getting terrible cramps like it was starting. Yesterday I woke with lower back pain, still have menstrual type cramps and had terrible diarrhea today along with nausea. Have a general feeling of illness and got sharp pain in my head and dizziness earlier. Help!
Hello I share your concern Headache and dizziness might be associated with electrolyte imbalances and dehydration caused by terrible diarrhea.
I would advise you to take plenty of fluids including ORS, fruits juices and Lemon water mixed with salt and sugar.
Low backache with cramps might be associated with diarrhea or pelvic inflammatory disease/UTI.
In my opinion you should consult your family physician for urine test, stool test for ova, cyst or protozoa and electrolyte study if need be.
You may require a course of antibiotics preferably ornidazole or ofloxacin group of drugs with antiacidity medicine. you can take acetaminophen for low backache.
Hope this answers your question, please feel free to ask for follow up question. Best wishes
