Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I have read your question fully and understand your concerns.
You are right that you could be pregnant as your period is delayed. You could also have
spotting during pregnancy, but that is not normal. Any spotting during pregnancy should be assessed by your
ObGyn, normally blood tests are done and an
ultrasound scan is done to rule out a
miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy.
If you have been having delayed periods then there is a possibility that you could be having
hormonal imbalance. Spotting can be a consequence of hormonal imbalance.
Spotting can also occur due to cervical erosion. This is a harmless condition, where the cells from the inside of your cervix (neck of womb) migrate outwards. These cells are more friable and easily bleed. This is visible to you as spotting.
You could do a pregnancy test. Based on the report, you could consult your ObGyn.
I hope this answer has helped you.
Thank you
