Hi I have been on qlaria for the past 8 months and usually would get a bleed around the 12th day of taking pill. It is as my normal period lasting around 2 - 3 days. Then I would also get another period at the end of the pill packet. I take it around the same time every night. But in the last couple of months I have got a discharge on the 12th day and the previous month a slight bleed. This month a slight discharge on the 12th day and finished the pill and started my new one 4 days ago with no period. Not quite sure what kind of symptoms I have whether pms or pregnant! !. What do you think? Cheers
Hi, Thanks for trusting us with your health concern. With hormone contraception it is common to see menstrual disturbances in the initial months. As the body adjusts to the new hormone levels, stability is achieved. This could be the likely reason for the spotting you experienced early in the cycle. Now, your body seems to be adjusting. Yet, you should always exclude pregnancy through a HPT or the blood test whenever there is a delayed period. Please get a home pregnancy test with a fresh early morning sample of urine. Further management can be planned accordingly. Hope this helps.
