What Causes Delayed Periods After Overdose Of Birth Control Pills?
Hi Doctor, iv been using prostinor 2 as a birth control pill but didn t know that I wasn t suppose to take so much doses of it. I kept taking it after every unprotected sex.Its like two months since I started. I keep missing my periods even though that of last two months came late....I didn t c my period of last month but iv been seeing brown scanty discharge. Please what could be the problem?
Emergency contraceptive pill contains high progesterone levels and hence, disturbs the normal hormone milieu of the body. This is the cause of the abnormal menstrual pattern and also the persistent bleeding. I would ask you to see a gynecologist for a proper clinical evaluation and plan further management. You need a proper contraceptive medication to overcome the hormone imbalance created.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
