What Causes Delayed Periods Having Diagnosed With Ovarian Cyst?

Hello.. I am 27yrs old & married and currently in US. I didnt get periods since april 2014. I married on Feb 17th 2014 & at the marriage time i preponed my periods. I consulted Dr & took Primolut N tabs & got periods on feb 3rd. But in march month i didnt get menses. Then I consulted Gynaec, She did ultra sonography test. In this I came to know that i have PCO and Impression is Normal uterus with bilateral PCO. She again suggested me to take Primolut N tab for 3days and on the 3rd day of the periods i did harmonal test like FSH, LH, PRL, THYROID PROFILE, SERUM INSULIN. In reports its mentioned as LH: 15.6 miu/ml (reference value is follicular phase: 0.8-0.15 miu/ml). For this she gave me Glycomet SR tabs for 10days and said me to go for laproscopy surgery. But I didnt go for that. I took this tab for only 5days and since then I didnt take any medicine & consult any Dr. Earlier in oct 2013 i had severe stomach pain at left side of the lower abdomen. At that time also i had gone for scanning and the result was normal uterus with left ovarian cyst. I took same Primolut N tabs. Please tell me the reason for the delay and are you going to prescribe any medicine for this. If yes then is prescription valid in US to get the medicine in pharmacy?

Hello,

PCOS is characterised by irregular periods. You should take oral estroprogestative contraceptives to make cycle regular and to put ovaries at rest for some time.

If you want to get pregnant your doctor can give you metformine and Clomifene to help ovulation. Also gonadotropin injections can be used.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
