What Causes Delayed Periods With Heavy Bleeding?

I had my period a week late thn expected and it was a bit heavy. I had sex during my period & when it finally ended I had unprotected sex and my partner spermed me two days in a row. &now I m experiencing light blood discharge with lower abdominal pain and I been feeling nauseous and tired. Please tell me what to do I think I still hve the depo shot in my system even though I haven t got the injection again..

Hello,
Thanks for writing to us. If you are due for the deposhot and did not get it, you are no longer protected. Though return of ovulation can take some time and thus you are safe, you still have to exclude pregnancy through the blood test. Hormone imbalance is another possible cause. A trans-vaginal sonogram will clarify. Hormone assay may be needed if the disturbances persist. Please get proper clinical evaluation and plan further management. Hope this helps.
