What Causes Delayed Periods With Negative Pregnancy Test?

Hi doctor , i,m 29 year old . my question is that i irregular periods . Last month i had periods on 4th , but this month till date i haven,'t got my periods on.on i had dipregnancy test and it came out negative what could be the reason for delayed periods.
