What Causes Delayed Periods?

Hi, I am a 30 year old female married. My doc suggested Duoluton for my irrgeular periods. I toolk it for 21 days and its been 6 days and have not got my periods yet. Also, along with i am taking Metmorphin. What is causing the delay in my periods?
