Please repeat the test after a couple of days as suggested. If you wish to have an earlier and better clarification, please opt for the blood test. If negative, this delay in the period could mean hormone imbalance which needs further evaluation. A trans-vaginal/pelvic sonogram is helpful to plan further management if you do not see the period for another week. Hope this helps.
