What Causes Delayed Periods?

Hi , I am 38yr old I am having thyroid hypo since 3yrs and I am taking thyronorm100mg .and planning for baby . In may I got surgery of vaginal pack removed after that my periods is regular from 26to 30 days last month my cycle starts from july 24 and last for 5 days we have sex on 10&12day only and my expected period should be 23 august till now no periods now and I am nog feeling ang pregnancg symptom except sleeping full and going to urine 5 times a day and I did not done hcg test what should I do is I am pregnant or something else plz reply me.

Hello,

1. To confirm you are pregnant you need to check with home pregnancy kit.

2. As you said you are hypothyroidism patient, thyroid hormone level imbalance can also cause irregular menstruation.

So my advice is to check with your thyroid hormone level every three months to adjust the dosage accordingly.

3. Wait for few more days as the normal length of the cycle is 28-40 days and still, if you don't get then you can take tablet Norethisterone twice a day for 3 days and then stop, you will get your periods.
