What Causes Delayed Periods?

Hi I recently went on a 10 day trip to Israel. I hiked a lot, didn’t have great night sleeps most days. Walked a ton. I got my period 10 days before I left for the trip. I’ve been back for over two weeks and I still haven’t gotten my period. I am always regular with my cycle being about 27-30 days in length. I’m not pregnant I’ve taken two pregnancy tests which were both negative. I am worried. I’ve read that periods come be delayed because of traveling overseas which can cause change in body’s natural rhythm. Opinions!?

Hello,

Be sure to take a pregnancy home test at least 5 days of the delayed period. I think it is a hormone imbalance caused by different causes.

One cause is that you were exposed to a warmer weather than you usually are and also in an increased physical activity than usual.

This caused the early coming of the period. As you were back to normal you experienced a delay. Your body needs some time to get used to change.

You can use Progestative pills for 7 days and then wait for the period to come.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
