The possible causes of delay in your periods are:
- Menstrual cycles with the length of 21 to 35 days can be considered as normal, so a delay of few days can be considered as normal only. - Usually antibiotics may not affect the menstrual cycles, but the problem for which the antibiotics have taken can affect the reproductive hormone levels and their by menstrual cycles. - If you have taken the emergency contraceptive pill in the second half of the menstrual cycle, that can delay the onset of the periods due to the high progesterone content in that.
So, if you want to rule out the possibility of pregnancy, please go for urine or blood test for pregnancy, if the test gives a negative result, you can wait for a few more days and possibly you may get your periods soon.
