Hi,
If you have mentioned your age and obstetric history more accurate answer might have been possible. Anyhow, usually menstrual cycles with the length of 21 to 35 days can be considered as a normal. Many causes like changes in physical activity, diet, sleep, general conditions like anemia, thyroid hormone abnormalities, etc. can lead to reproductive
hormonal imbalance leading to irregular menstrual periods. During premenstrual period also
abdominal pain, spotting, etc. symptoms can be seen.
As the urine
pregnancy test kit gave a negative result, you can wait and watch for one more week by the time you may get your periods meanwhile you can take antispasmodics for symptomatic relief. If you do not get periods, even after one week please go for
blood test for pregnancy, which can give more accurate results compared with urine pregnancy test or
ultrasound to find out the possible causes of the delay in periods and take treatment accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
