What Causes Dense Tissue In The Breast?

I am 60 years old and my last mammogram states I had dense breast tissue. I get my mammograms at the same facility every year. I started in a weight training program 3 years ago due to osteopenia and in January my weight lifting has become more intense became involved in cross fit. My deadlier increased 50# in a couple of months up to 195# was wondering if that might have something to do with my mammogram reading. I have gained 3 - 4 pounds but still wear the same size in clothes.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It can be a glandular deposit.

Malignancy (cancerous change) is very unlikely. However, is better to go for a biopsy to confirm the diagnosis.

Consult a general surgeon and plan for an ultrasound-guided biopsy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
