What Causes Diaphragmatic Breathing?

Hello, I have noticed that in the last 10 days, my son keeps taking deep breaths (about every minute or so) more so when he is sitting or relaxing. I also monitored him during sleep and he doesn t have any problems. He doesn t seem to get winded after playing, but sometimes he seems a bit melancholic. I talked to my pediatrician about it and she said that it could just be a tick. She didn t suggest any exams. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your question on HCM.
In my opinion it is a bit of tantrums and ticks he is doing.
He is absolutely fine and taking normal breathing in sleep. This suggest absence of any organic pathology. And points towards ticks and tantrums.
It is normal in children. And subside itself with time.
So no need to worry much for this. Better to keep him engage in activities and games.
