My daughter who is 21 has suffered most of her life with sickness and loose motions. As a baby and a young child she was constantly vomiting, her clothes and even shoes used to go big on her. We took her to the GP s many times and we got referred to paediatrics. She also got severe gut pain with these many episodes. One time it was so bad we were advised by our GP to take her to A&E, where she was examined by several doctors. They took her appendix out, she was 11 at the time. I checked with my GP a while after the op about the appendix only to be told it was normal. We got nowhere with the paediatrician either. She has always had whatever this is and is at her wits end as am I, I can t bear to hear her say Mum I can t stand this anymore. She has recently had another bout of sickness and now has pain in her gut that has her doubled over for most of the time. The other thing that is hampering her life is that she is constantly having to empty her bowels and although her motions aren t always loose there is an urgency to get to the toilet. She is so pale again with very dark circles under her eyes. She has no motivation to do anything and is so tired all the time, she has to make herself care for her horse, who she adores, and it is an effort to go to work, a job she used to love. She has blood tests as I am coeliac, they came back negative. Bad experiences at the hands of amateur s when she was a child has now left her needle phobic. Please can anyone shed any light on this as it is ruining my daughters quality of life. Thank you.
