Hi I’m I’ve been having off and on episodes of diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, unintentional weight loss, abdominal pains sharp and cramping dull. Fatigue as well. Diarrhea and severe cramping happens for a few days and then lightens up for a week and returns. This has been going on for over a year.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per my clinical experience, there can be various issues associated with chronic diarrhea as:
- inflammatory bowel disease
- malabsorption disorders
- chronic intestine infections
- liver, bile drainage or pancreas problems
- dietary factors
- endocrine issues as thyroid imbalance
- others.
As there must be enough trial of different molecules since 1 year, I recommend to systematically evaluate the condition with necessary lab tests, CT scan of abdomen & pelvis with colonoscopy for best diagnostic and management approach.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
