Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been feeling extremely fatigued since Nov. I was finally scheduled for an infusion in Jan and a colonoscopy in April which showed diverticular. I was on antibiotics before and after the colonoscopy. Within a couple of months symptoms returned but follow up showed clear on scan. Two separate CBC showed high WBC. So, had MRI of brain which impression was normal, but MRI spine shows diffusely diffused bone marrow, and requested to follow up with blood correlation. Still waiting on results but have experienced 5 days of diarrhea with blood in stools. Still quite fatigued, and continue to have numbness in leg and arm. Also experiencing pain in core of right leg. Any idea on what I should be pushing for. Treated at military clinic and can be slow in progression.

This is most commonly gastroenteritis due to parasite, but other common casues are also benign and include hemorrhoids, anal fissure or rectal polyps. These are primarily treated with stool softener, diet and sitzbaths. If there is no improvement in next few weeks, then surgical management should be considered. Other causes may be more serious and include tumors or inflammatory bowel diseases and these should be ruled out with colonoscopy which must be done if there is low blood count present or rapid weight loss. Otherwise, you can see if conservative therapy will help and consult proctologist if necessary I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
