What Causes Diarrhea And Bloody Stool To A 6 Month Baby?

My 6 month old had diarrhea for the past 7 days, no vomiting, no fever, still very active. She is using just soy milk and pedialyte. My concern is that she had a series of dark bloody stools that moved on to just frank blood stools. The Hospital sent her home and diagnosed her with GE (gastro......). Today is Tuesday and my daughter was like this since Sunday. I need a second opinion.

Thanks for the query.

There may be several reasons like infection in the stomach, colitis like Non-specific colitis, Breast milk colitis, Cow’s milk colitis.

You can go for stool examination and run a course of antibiotics if needed after consulting with your treating doctor.

Hope you a speedy recovery.
