What Causes Diarrhea And Rectal Bleeding After HCG Diet?
I just finished a 43 day round of hCG and the 500 cal diet. Today was my first day on Adkins after hCG diet. I've been having a few bouts of diarrhea, but just now I had bright red rectal bleeding that filled the toilet (looked about the consistancy of urine).
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Since you had a 43 day round of HCG diet and 500 Cal diet to get shifted to something else would cause constipation, loose stools or some sort of gastrointestinal disturbance. The bleeding per rectum could have been due to hemorrhoids one gets on restricted diet or polyp, ulceration and so on. Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation: Get an opinion of a General Surgeon, ano-proctoscopy to know the exact cause. and get treated accordingly. If this is normal then a colonoscopy is mandatory to get the exact cause so that an appropriate management can be done. Till then have Sitz bath in a tub with warm water. Stool softeners and laxatives if there is constipation.
