I ve been traveling through Central American for the pass 2 and 1/2 months. I started getting diarrhea within a month and had it for about 24 days before seeing a doctor about it, he prescribed me nodik 500mg (nitazoxanida) tables, nexium tables 40mg and this other liquid cables( forgot the name) I was told to take it for 5 days, which I did. My problem went away for about a week but I still get diarrhea not as frequently. What could be my problem? He also told me I can get over he counter nodik but haven t found any over the counter, can you help?
Diarrhea is one of the most common side effects of nexium. It doesn't get better with staying on the medicne in most people who get it. Lower dose might help. The cause is not clear and there isn't an easy way to keep taking the medicine and not continue to have the diarrhea.
