What Causes Diarrhea With Lower Abdominal Pain?

I have had chronic diarrhea the past year mainly in the morning. I get up and hava a normal B.M. And on some days will have a minor case of diarrhea about an hour after that. I have told my Doctor about this and have been given a cat scan and they find nothing. I also experience aching in the lower abdominal area which goes away after the B.M. Any ideas what might be the problem?

Hi,
thank you for query.
Your symptoms are suggestive of irritable bowel syndrome.
Diarrohea in the morning and with lower abdominal pain which goes away on defecation particularly suggest Irritable bowel syndrome.
However, if you are experiencing blood or mucous with stool, or any history of weight loss, it would be better to get a colonoscopy done.If not, then no need.Hope this helps.
