Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have diarrhea everyday, starting with a semi solid stool in the morning and progressively runny as the day continues having at least 6-8 bowel movements per day. i have been tested, and all test come back negative. i have an active lifestyle and low blood pressure, and i eat relatively healthy. i run 2-3 times per week and have a physical job. i avoid dairy as much as possible. i am not a stressed person and i also find as i am pushing 50 that i am having a hard time keeping my ideal weight. i would love to loose 20 lbs but it is next to impossible. i am currently 155 lbs active and a size 6-8 my dream would be to be 135 and a size 4 but that seems impossible. i don t have the typical belly fat, my fat seems to be evenly distributed all over my body. what advice could you give me?
Passing out up to 8 bowel motions a day can be very severe can lead to severe dehydration.
A vast majority of diarrhoea are caused by pathogens that could be viral, bacterial or parasitic. Some of these pathogens are not routinely tested in routine medical practice and so not certain of the various tests you did.
In a context like yours, it is important to consider Irritable bowel syndrome and to do an HIV serology. Weight loss is not common with irritable bowel syndrome unless you stop eating as much as you are doing.
In my opinion meeting a gastro-enterologist would be paramount. Meanwhile eat much ripe banana, carrot juice to reduce the watery stool and take in a lot of water better still oral rehydration therapy.
