What Causes Difficulty In Breathing And Heaviness In Chest?

Hi sometimes I get so tired that I m have to try to breath and eating while trying to breath makes it difficult. My body will get really weak and shaky. When ever that occurs it start out with me not able to sleep that night before because I feel weight on my chest and some what like insomnia but it happens like sometimes not every night.

Thanks for your question on HCM.
In my opinion you should consult doctor and rule out cardiac and pulmonary causes for your symptoms.
Breathlessness on eating (minimal exertion) can be seen in both cardiac and pulmonary disease.
So get done
1. ECG and 2d echo to rule out cardiac cause like heart failure and coronary artery disease.
2. Get done chest x ray and PFT (pulmonary Function test) to rule out pulmonary causes like chronic bronchitis and core pulmonale.
So consult doctor and discuss all these.
