What Causes Difficulty In Breathing While Climbing Staircase?
Hello Doctor Greetings I am a male of 44 years age. Recently I am having breathing difficulty that increases on climbing staircase and in stress/ anxiety states. My doctor had given me an antibiotic and Levocrtizine - Monteleucast tabs once a day-5mg for fifteen days. On taking the medication I am fine. On withdrawal of the medicines I have wheezing sound with difficulty in breathing again. I am having this problem since a month. I find it difficult to sleep for this. Also If I lie on my right side I feel uncomfortable and have to change sides. Please suggest
I have read your query and understand your concern.the tablets you have mentioned above decrease the inflammation in airways which may have cause symptomatic improvement in our condition till you were taking them but the actual cause of the symptoms should be diagnosed for complete relief, in my opinion the wheeze,breathlessness increasing on exertion mostly suggest Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.Stop smoking if you are a smoker and avoid dust,any allergen if its been identified,Meditation with yoga can definitely help you in stress relief. I suggest an immediate appointment with a pulmonologist to ask about his expert opinion about getting an X-ray chest, spirometry done to start appropriate treatment as early as possible.
