What Causes Difficulty In Swallowing After An Endoscopy?
Hello, After having an endoscopy done a month ago I am having difficulty swallowing and food ends up in my windpipe. Tonight I woke up coughing and I assume I inhaled some saliva. It has been an hour and I am still coughing and trying to get the saliva out of there. Should I be worried?
HI Thank choosing HCM I would be happy to answer your query, if this is the swallowing difficulty and cough symptoms after the endoscopic examination then it could be due to the trauma, it could be the inflammatory condition of esophagus some time it could be due to hyperacidity and may not be due to trauma in either of these case condition can be managed with Tab Omeprazole 40 mg once in day and antacid with local anesthetic effects, avoid spicy food, hope this helps you.
