Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Difficulty In Swallowing Food And Burping?
My husband has difficulty swallowing some foods, eats very little, burps a lot. Says his food seems stuck. He drinks too much red wine (in my opinion - 1 bottle a night) could this cause acid and inflammation? He is going to doctor tomorrow, but would like to be a little informed before he goes. Thank you. Gaynor
Your husband's symptoms could be due to the esophagitis, acid reflux disease. I would suggest to consult the gastroenterologist and undergo examination like barium X-ray/endoscopy, 24 hour esophageal ph test, blood test like ESR, CBC. Doctor will give following advises: Tablet esmoprazole before meal three times a day Syrup mucaine Tablet metoclopramide at the bed time Tablet unienzyme and gas x Drink plenty of water Avoid spicy/oily/fatty food Take small frequent meal rather than large meal Hope this may help you
Contact HCM for further health query Best regards Dr. Sagar
