What Causes Difficulty In Urination,lower Back Pain And 50-60/HPF Pus Cells In Urine?

29-female-H: 153cms-W: 56kgs. - I have 50-60 /HPF Pus cells in my urine. I am experiencing lower back pains. I have a history of UTI but this is the first time i am experiencing difficulty to urinate. What other tests do i need to undergo to find out if i have kidney infection?

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your clinical history and query, my opinion is as follows:
1. You are definitely having urinary tract infection. Renal function tests can help in evaluation of kidney function.
2. Ultrasound can help in identifying, an abscess, pyonephrosis, scarring etc in the kidney.
3. If required, a guided renal biopsy can be done to identify infection.
