What Causes Difficulty Urinating After Catheterization?

had pelvic prolapse surg 11-19-2014 included rectocele,cystocele,hysterectomy,pelvic floor prolapse repaired....came home with catheter for 1 week and unable to void..am self catherizinf about every 4 to 6 hrs...this makes me so weak and break out in a swear so my husband does it...get about 300 to 500cc each time....drinking plenty fluids...my urethera feel like it is in a spasm when i try to void...i try to void every 2 hrs and cant and it hurts,,i have no UTI or other infections...am on cipro and pyridium...close contact with dr and his nurse practioner...i am keeping a bladder diary,,i know it may take several weeks to months to void,,,do u have any other suggestions

U can take tablet urimax 0.4 mg at bed time this will relax urinary passage and may help u out
Further if symptoms persists u may go for uroflowmetry / urodynamic studies and ultrasound kub with post void residual urine review with reports
