What Causes Dilation In The Heart?

iam a 39yr old male with sleep apena also told i have a dilated heart . going for my second echo an hoping it wen down iam on the cpap machine everynite. my concerns are my heart iam 6'4 at 228ibs i recently lost 40ibs. i lfted weights since i was 17 yrs old. now i taken a different appproach a hell of lot of cardo.

Hi,
As per the information you provided, its very difficult to judge the cause of dilatation of your heart. But i can say that, because you were little over weight, with a life style of heavy weight lifter, it could be a reason. There are reports of cardiac involvement with patient who have sleep apnoea, and who are alcoholic. So any of these could be a reason.
Best approach would be reduce the stress on your heart, and living a healthy life.
