What Causes Discharge From Anus Post Surgery For Rectal Prolapse?
i am 21. for about three years i have had discharge from anus, i found out that i had a rectal prolapse and had surgery last january however the discharge has got so much worse and i go on average about 25 times a day to pass this discharge and i have a constant build up of gas during the day which i cant control and then the discharge comes out... especially when im playing sports. i have had many members of my family have cancer and my grandad died of prostate cancer - can it be colorectoral cancer? doctors havent investigated because they say im too young, but i didnt tell them the family history because i only found out today

If you had rectal surgery in January month this year and still getting discharge per anus then you should first visit your operating surgeon for thoroughly clinical examination.
There could be many reason behind that like failure of surgery,relapse or recurrent prolapse or piles etc but the possibility of cancer is rare although must be ruled out.
May be you will require complete blood works,proctoscopy,colonoscopy if your surgeon suggests to identify the cause
Meanwhile,You should take hot sitz bath,
Syrup cremaffin plus 3 TSF in night time.
Take only light diet and avoid spicy foods.
Consult gastroenterologist immediately.
