What Causes Discharge Of Mucus With Bit Of Blood?

Hi.I am 44 years old,with a healthy diet and lifestyle.I have mucus coming from my bottom, almost like diahrreah,having to change my nickers 2or 3 times a day.I had this roughly 10 months ago,and also a bit of blood. I went to a GP who had a look and advised no haemarroids. After awhile, it just went awy, but has been back almost a week. any advice please?
