What Causes Discharging Mucus Without Stool Several Times A Day?
My son is autistic. For the last four months he has been discharging mucus without stool several times a day. We have tried Miralax for several weeks with no luck. Then we tried Benefiber for three weeks and still no luck. He doesn't seem to be in pain, but he cannot communicate his issue.

I really appreciate your concern, if the stool contains the mucus since long time then the stool needs to be sent for lab test. It may not be anything wrong but as such it is the chronic condition then it needs to be taken care, what the neurological condition the child has got may not be related with that.
