Since mid July my husband has had his hair turn from dark brown to a reddish color then fall out. He has lost a spot about 8 in diameter on one side and a spot about 2 in diameter on the other. He has seen the family Dr. and had blood test and a CT scan, Dr. says he s O.K. Something haz to be wrong! At this rate he will be bald by X-Mas. Also there is no new hair growing back!
Hello, Thanks for the query, Hair fall in males is mainly hormonal in nature and is called as androgenic alopecia. There is normal hormone production but hair are more responsive to that. This causes hair fall. Hair fall in such cases can be controlled by the following approach. 1.apply minoxidil 5% oil twice daily on scalp. 2.take an anti-androgen tablet, saw palmetto containing capsules can be used . 3.take a tablet which is rich in biotin and proteins. 4.take diet rich in protein and iron.
You can wash your hair daily as washing does not cause hair loss. If you have dandruff you can use an anti-fungal shampoo like ketoconazole. Don’t use different chemicals or any other products on your hair.
Let me know if you have any other doubts. Thank you
