What Causes Discoloration Of Charcoal Capsules? Is It Safe To Take?

Hi, I have purchased Charco caps a while ago, when I took the last of the 3 packs out of the box part of the capsules were discolored , they are almost black. I have been using this product for many years and never had a problem. I do not have the receipt any more but I purchased them at Walmart. what is the cause and are they save?
