Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Discomfort Feeling In Chest When I Am Angry?
When I get very upset, say when I m arguing with my 12 year old, I become very angry as well. The last month or so my heart will suddenly experience a weird sensation. As if it is being squeezed. I have difficulty speaking and shallow breathing. I immediately will try to calm myself down due to concern. It goes away quickly. I have had panic attacks over the years due to my anxiety. But this is very different. It s probably happened about 3 or 4 times. Could this be a sign of future heart attack?

hi with previous history of panic attacks and anxiety,it is more so like stress induced, due to sudden increase in stress hormonal changes in the body. please try to control your anger & mood fluctuations. you require a good counselling, either with someone trustworthy or a psychiatrist. you should not think it as a sign of future heart attack, to supress this doubt you can as well check out with the cardiologist, with your ECG,& 2D-ECHO. All the best, take care
