What Causes Discomfort In The Chest And Armpit?

I ve had a pic line for two weeks now and am suddenly feeling chest and armpit discomfort where the line goes into the chest area. shortness of breath a little as well. I went out yesterday and was very active could it be I m doing too much? i just took two tylenols and am using a heating pad on those areas of discomfort.

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms could be related to an infection. For this reason, I recommend going to the ER for a physical exam and some tests:

- a chest X ray study
- complete blood count, PCR, ESR for inflammation.
