What Causes Discomfort In The Ears?

I am experiencing a strange feeling in my ear. Once in awhile, very unexpectedly, I get the sensation of heat moving through my ear. It almost feels like liquid. I am 63 year old woman with no major health issues. Is this something I should be concerned about? Thank you for your input.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Heat sensation in the ear means there's is an inflammation in the middle ear which may be due to allergy or Infection or Eustachian tube block etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
Avoid cool drinks and freeze water avoid smoking and caffeine drinks.
Use tablet Amoxiclav twice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
