What Causes Discomfort In The Eyes?

Hi, my eyes are acting up. I noticed that when I am hungry or there is gas in my system or I feel like using the bathroom then there is a slight sensation like there an eyelash has fallen in. Once I am done using the bathroom or I eat, then it clears. Today, the sensation has been a bit more prolonged, one minute its as if there is sand, then another a cotton wool like sensation or just a general irritation.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I sincerely hope there is no actual foreign body in the eye. To rule that out we need to have a eye check up done. Till then you can use artificial tears four times a day for a week.

Hope it helps.
